Welcome to the art space of Anita Williams. I will use this space to write about my art processes, my inspirations and other things I am learning in my journey. I am generally a positive person but I am drawn to the negative space in nature. Things that are unseen or overlooked.
During the last two years, I've had the privilege of teaching art to the Autistic support class. This is a wonderful bunch of students who enjoy every lesson and dive into them with utmost enthusiasm. This was a lesson on the recently deceased James Izzi who created blocks of buildings with personality. I adapted this lesson from an elementary art teacher who so kindly shared her lesson on Pinterest. Pinterest has been an excellent resource when looking for lesson ideas for my special needs students who learn differently than the typical high school student that I normally teach. I love these designs so much I want to make them into T-shirts! (Unfortunately, I lost one of the designs while posting). Hopefully I'll find it at some point.

These are wonderful and you are such a good person to want to work with these young people. They are happy designs and would make good t-shirts.

Just an update on these. There are certain people in our country who are feverishly trying to kill public education at the moment. The are members of the tea party fueled by the billionaire Koch brothers. Our governor who's largest private donor is running his own Charter schools. I do not mind private schools, but Charter schools are taking money directly out of the public system and can be for profit.
