Flood Zone

Well the weather gods are at it again. A stalled weather system funneled 7-8 inches of rain through central Pennsylvania over the last couple of days.

I did get an unexpected day off. Luckily my house is not in a flood plain. I did cross through a boundary and I drove through a water covered road last night. Normally I wouldn't do it, but the little VW ahead of me went through so I thought my bitchen mini-van would make it.

Hershey Park is underwater. Unfortunately they had to euthanize two buffalo (American bison) that were caught in a flash flood.

Major interstates are closed including I-81 and the Pennsylvania turnpike. It is pretty serious. This stalled weather system is causing more damage than Hurricane Irene last week.

The good news is that I spent the day painting. I have the preserved farmland trust exhibit coming up.

I hope everyone is staying dry.

Yikes, Neetzy, you sure get some awful weather over there (and it's us damned fool Englishmen who moan constantly about it when it's nowhere near as bad here).
Stay warm and dry and keep painting. I can't wait to see the results.

Thanks Dive,

We are very close to passing the rainiest year on record. Usually we can finish mowing the grass around August. Anyway, I have a few interesting paintings in the works, nothing great, but interesting.

Hi Anita! It's been a long while so I was just stopping by to say "HI". Sorry to hear you are involved in this crazy weather but glad to hear you didn't get flooded out. Such a wild summer with floods, fires, droughts and earthquakes. Glad to hear you are painting, you sound happy. I'll be back. :)

Hi Barbara!

I'm still around, but it is the beginning of the school year and I am super swamped. I am working on a bunch of paintings. I have three shows coming up! I'll stop by soon!
