Testing 1..2..3 What do you think of Jeff Koons?
Jeff Koon's Bunny Sculpture. Okay, the picture looks like WTF? Who would sculpt a bunny balloon? I did see this sculpture in person and it is amazing. It is constructed of polished steel and you can see your reflection distorted in astonishing angles. I took a group of high school students to the Baltimore Museum of Art when it was exhibited there. They were absolutely captivated!
Imagine their astonishment when I told them that Jeff was born in York County. In fact, Jeff was born and raised in my current home town of Dover, Pa and has become the highest paid and most well known sculptor in the U.S. Many people think his work is kitschy. Okay, the subject matter is kitschy, but the interpretation, in my opinion, is brilliant.
I'm just testing to see if the blog works anymore.
I've tried posting a few times and I've gotten all sorts of error messages.
I have a lot to write about but I want to make sure blogger is still working before I pour my heart and soul into this.
If you are still around, say hello. If you don't visit blogs anymore, let me know.

Hey there Sis!
I am not sure about Koons. Perhaps if I saw his work in person I would have a better opinion. Didn't he do a whole porn series?
I saw an exhibit of Jeff Koons at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago two years ago. It was amazing and so much fun to see. Everything was literally larger than life. And yes, we also saw the porn series. (Kinda scary)
Sis,
Koons is definitely weird, but the stainless steel sculptures are amazing. Of course he came from Dover!
Janelle,
I didn't want to see the porn stuff. When he was married to that Italian porn star... who is now a politician, ha! Anyway his sculptures are beautiful in person, and when he comes home to visit, he is very friendly and down to earth.
Oh, and I don't care if you hate him. I like to post this image in my art classes to start the discussion of "What is Art?"
Does Koons have a posy...a group of followers...like a gang...of gorilla bruisers...a bunch of goons...Koons Goons?
p.s. love your icon, the colors are beautiful.
Yay! I love Koons, Neetzy. So cool that he is a hometown boy. He makes art fun and every piece of his that I have met in person has left me happier, emotionally richer and filled with a sense of wonder.
Brown?
Koons' goons? Gangstas from the boons.
Dive,
I'm glad you love Jeff as well. You have to see his work in person to appreciate it.
